Open your eyes

Much has been made of the questions naturally arising from cataclysmic human events in recent history from the assassination of president Kennedy to the attacks of 9/11. People are routinely dismissed as “conspiracy theorists” and “paranoids” when they ask basic questions about physics and chemistry. Looking at crash sites or building collapses with a skeptic’s eye is somehow bad or “unpatriotic.”

But in 1964, Americans did not question the attack on an American ship that precipitated our involvement in the Vietnam war… and later it was discovered that the attack didn’t happen at all. click…

So a war that killed over a million people brought US involvement through a lie. This is not disputable. So why do we not question the motives for current events?

I think we should question the motives. I think we should question our “leaders.” I think questions are good for humans to ask. I think we would be better off if we opened our eyes and our minds and asked “why.”

To that end, i am accumulating a list of links that lead to a higher state of awareness of the potential manipulation all around us.

  1. I agree whole-heartedly that we should question motives and leaders, I think people should question anything they don’t feel 100% sure on, and even if they do, question it to make sure they have it right. This country has become such a state of sheeple that it’s disgusting. I don’t think there has been any other time in the history of this country where the government has had us so desensitized and blinded to what’s really going on around us. It’s so incredibly pathetic that people can’t look up for a second and go “hey, wait a minute.” I mean, look at this whole lebanese conflict that’s going on. I have MSN as my homepage, and everyday I see a set of new headlines about Lebanon everyday, and you can draw where it’s going just from that. It goes from “Israel bombs Lebanon” to “US chooses to train Lebanese troops.” Is anyone seeing a pattern here? I sure am. If anybody thinks 9/11 could happen again better get their hard hats, because it might come around again if this keeps up.
